Welcome to the International Reggio Emilia Center at Lakeway. We are a group of educators and researchers who have been working with children for over 15 years whose main objective was to understand why not all children learn in the same way or at the same pace and offer the best way children learn without feeling stressed. A place where they feel like they are coming home, comfortable, excited, learning the way each of them likes to learn.

The inspiration for our preschool came through our studies, in which we learned extensively about Reggio Emilia education. Based on the principles of respect, responsibility and community through discover and personal exploration in a supportive environment, I have seen the benefits of a Reggio Emilia firsthand, greater confidence, a more rounded perspective, and a greater ability and desire for independent learning. Adding in a second language - Spanish - only supports the approach further, and gives children the foundation for a lifelong gift, a second language.
Learning a second language as an adult can seem like a daunting task. Fortunately, for young children, it is second nature. Not only does it give the obvious benefit of speaking a second language but multiple studies suggests it helps with everything from social skills to overall learning. We'd be happy to share these studies with you.
